Genting Highlands is a good place for fresh air and recreation with its surrounded cooling weather. Many locals and foreigners tend to spend their holidays or weekends here as it is about 1 hour drive from Kuala Lumpur City Centre.

#1 Checked In @ First World Hotel
It was the world’s largest hotel with lots of wonderful attractions nearby, for example, the Sky Avenue – the latest lifestyle mall with varieties of retail shops, food & beverage restaurants, cafes, desserts and etc.
The rooms were clean, comfortable and practical to stay in, with the available of the normal daily needs such as the hair dryer, soap, body & shampoo, fridge, instant tea & coffee bags, tv, clothes hanger, cups and kettle.
We had the Deluxe room at First World Hotel. Therefore, it was a bit bigger in size compared to the normal one. Every check-ins to the hotel room in First World Hotel is to be done at the Self Check-in Kiosk.
If you were to check-in at the counter, you will need to pay RM 15 extra for the services. Therefore, everyone was to check-in using the self check-in kiosk. The system will automatically assigned you the types and categories of rooms booked.
And for check-out, you will just need to insert the hotel card back into the check-out kiosk provided. So easy and efficient ! There is also a fitness centre which I have never been to before.
Note that their check-in time is 1500 and check-out time is 1100.
For your information,
- Extra RM 5 for a connecting room, mountain view or having a room near the lift
- Extra RM 5 for check-in early
- A refundable deposit for luggage trolleys
- Delivery or Collection services available for RM 20/luggage
#2 Genting Premium Outlets
This was the excited part for me as I love shopping. I saw many of my friends went and bought a lot of stuffs with discounted prices up to 70%. Therefore, we were here to join the crowd too. There were lots of branded shops like Coach, Micheal Kors, Furla, Kate Spade, Moschino, Nike, Adidas, Topshop, Oroton, Charles & Keith and etc.
There were food court, food & beverage shops too other than just products shopping. The parking fees in the building was RM 5/entrance. However, you could get exempted by inserting your Genting Rewards Card which is the Genting’s member card to the payment machine.
#3 全记小菜馆 Chuan Kie Restaurant @ Gohtong Jaya, Genting Highlands
We were so hungry after the great shopping at the Genting Premium Outlet. And now was the time to feed our precious stomach for some good foods. We simply picked a restaurant as the one we normally went was closed down.
Unfortunately, the foods here were super good, tasty and flavourful. Asking for more bowls of white rice to go with the yummy dishes.
#4 Casino @ Sky Avenue
The newly and modern casino opened at the Sky Avenue Mall was one of the famous attraction to be visited in Genting Highlands. Many locals and foreigners love to enter the world of gamble even by just sneak and peak at others, enjoy the free drinks, people watching, glimpse at the designs of wall & carpet, enjoy playing the new & wide screen of ‘tiger’ machine, the playing methods of the games and etc.
The roof of the casino was full of the ocean led illumination, very beautiful. It looks just like the underwater sea. There were varieties of games to be chose and played. You can gamble but just to be in safe ! Do not be over the limitations. Gamble in safe !
#5 Seven Eleven, 7-11 @ Sky Avenue
We went to buy some snacks back to our room as I was actually felt a bit of hungry in the middle of the night. The cup noodles were sold out. In no other choices, I was to choose chips, twiggies, chocolates and sweets.
It was located at the top floor which is the same level with the cable car. Just right at the corner, beside the Hot & Roll shop.
#6 Malaysian Food Street @ Sky Avenue
There is a food court at the top level of the Sky Avenue Mall, which was at the other side of the mall – beside the cable car entrance slightly going through the open deck pathway, walk straight and you will come to the Malaysian Food Street (food court).
You will need to purchase a food court card and reload the amount of money that you want to use to purchase your meal. Note that there is a deposit and non-refundable amount for the card so just buy a card to share among with the others.
The design of this food court was really unique and beautiful. A very old-stylish theme with lots of antique decorated around the stalls. So nice. Love all the decor.
#7 Afternoon Tea in the clouds @ E18hteen Inspired Cuisine Crockfords, Maxims Hotel, Genting Highlands
We had booked for an afternoon tea in the clouds at the Maxims Hotel. Finally, I was here to try on their limited time afternoon tea in the clouds. It was a super excited one as only in Genting Highlands, one could enjoy an afternoon tea in the clouds.
Everything was in top-notch, from service to food. Staff will led you to the seats and explained every details to you about the afternoon tea as well as the food contents. It was indeed a very refined experience in the clouds with an overlook beauty of the highlands.
A great place for an afternoon tea with your loved ones with a spectacular view ! Remember to make reservations in advance to secure your seat for an gorgeous afternoon tea in the clouds !
What is hidden/secret behind the Torofuwa Espresso pudding ? Check it out here. And next, what to do with the afternoon tea and Hennessy below ? A drunk afternoon tea begins ?
These were the things I did in Genting Highlands. Where have you been and What have you did, share more with me, if you have any new ideas and places for visit. I will love to visit them too ! Enjoyed much in Genting Highlands of the cooling weather.
