It was something charming about having afternoon tea in the clouds (6,000 feet above the sea level), which is only available in the Maxims Hotel, Resort World Genting. Looking through the best view of the highlands and clouds while indulging a good cuppa of Earl Grey Tea from Cafe Richard. It was so much enjoyable to do in the weekends.
The afternoon tea offered from 3pm to 5.30pm daily for two persons at a priced of RM 128 nett. A savoury and sweet mix served in a bird cage tray elegantly which caught my eyes. Allows me to take more pictures of it as it was really very beautiful to look at as well as the foods were good too !
The afternoon tea starts with a traditional sweet plates of delicate cheesecakes, carrot cakes, fruits tartlets, classic scones with clotted cream & strawberry jam and a feathery light Chinese egg tart ensconced in buttery, crumbly pastry offer a hint of divergence.
On the upper tray, is American lobster with celery, chives and homemade mayo in a soft roll, oriental golden rolls with salted egg yolk, smoked salmon on brioche with horse radish cream, a bed of delightfully crispy tempura-fried microgreens, Ogura cream (cream whipped with azuki beans) sandwich and cucumber sandwich.
Afternoon Tea set serves in a bird cage tray with the combination of Chinese, Western and Japanese desserts. Every afternoon tea set comes with a pot of tea with the selection of Grand Earl Grey – black tea from Ceylon embellished with bergamot, Camomille Bio – the finest selection of chamomille flowers with a sweet and floral aroma and the Vert Ala Menthe, Green Mint – intensely refreshing oriental-style tea revealing the full flavours of mint and a cup of brewed coffee – a superb cup with hints of fruit and spices.
We were not a fans of coffee, therefore, we ordered two pots of tea for our afternoon tea. We had the Grand Earl Grey and Camomille Bio.
A blend of pineapple juice and subtle hints of choy sum clears the palate for the third portion. An epic Torofuwa espresso pudding is flamed tableside with Hennessy and a warming fresh almond milk pudding with snow frog concludes the refined experience.
Usually we spent most of our time in the casino and having Starbucks in Genting Highlands only since the theme park was closed for big renovations. However, having afternoon tea in the clouds with only RM 128 nett (member) for 2 persons, caught my eyes to must pay a visit there.
Furthermore, with the accompanied of such a beautiful view, sunsets in the evening, enjoying with the loved one, I can said it was definitely worth it. Indulging the beautifully crafted afternoon tea in a bird cage tray and sipping a good cuppa of finest tea from Cafe Richard was the most enjoyable time to spend in Genting Highlands.
As seats were limited thus reservations are recommended.
